Mangaluru gets direct flight connectivity to Delhi
- Flight 6E 2164/6E 2165 will operate four days a week
- IndiGo also operates a transit flight from Delhi to Mangaluru via Pune
- The airlines plans to start flights using ATR aircraft to Chennai (morning), Kochi, and Tirupati
Mangaluru, July 01, 2022: Mangaluru’s longstanding demand for a direct flight to the Delhi gathered fresh wings with IndiGo commencing operation on the Delhi (DEL)-Mangaluru (IXE)-DEL sector on July 1.
The Airbus A320 carrying 77 passengers reached Mangaluru. As many as 140 passengers took the flight to Delhi. Captain Anubhav Banerjee helmed this flight.
Flight 6E 2164/6E 2165 will operate four days a week- Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Flight 6E 2164 leaves Delhi at 7.40 am and will arrive at 10.15 am at Mangaluru International Airport. Flight 6E 2165 will leave Mangaluru International Airport at 10.45 am and reach Delhi at 1.20 pm. IndiGo also operates a transit flight 6E 671/6E 6431 from Delhi to Mangaluru via Pune on these very days.
This direct flight to Delhi opens connectivity to places such as Chandigarh, Dehradun, Patna, Ranchi, Lucknow, Bhopal, Dammam, Jeddah, and Riyadh. Mangaluru International Airport is facilitating airlines to start operations to/from this airport. This in turn provides passengers with an enhanced opportunity to travel to destinations of their choice.
The transit flight 6E 671 leaves Delhi at 9.05 pm and reaches Pune two hours later. It departs Pune at 11.45 pm to reach Mangaluru at 1.05 am. The return flight 6E 6431 leaves Mangaluru at 2.45 am to reach Pune at 4.20 am. This flight in turn leaves Pune at 4.55 am and reaches Delhi two hours later. Both the direct and transit flight offer their own advantages to passengers depending on their convenience.
IndiGo also has plans to start flights using ATR aircraft to Chennai (morning), Kochi, and Tirupati from Mangaluru. The airline recently started a through flight to Belagavi via Bengaluru using a mix of A320/ATR aircraft respectively. Passengers have a layover of approximately 2 hours in Bengaluru before they board the flight to Belagavi and 80 minutes at Bengaluru enroute MIA on the return flight.
GoFirst Routes Flight To Mumbai Via Coimbatore
Budget airline GoFirst which operated a daily direct flight to Mumbai from Mangaluru has changed the route via Coimbatore from July 1. Flight G8 369 leaves Mumbai at 11.30 am and reaches Mangaluru at 1 pm. It departs for Coimbatore at 1.30 pm and reaches there at 2.15 pm. This flight again departs Coimbatore at 2.50 pm to reach Mumbai at 4.50 pm. The airline has made this routing arrangement up to August 11.
