Udupi, June 24, 2022: Five houses have been damaged due to rain and wind in Udupi district. Of these four are in Udupi Taluk and one in Brahmavar Taluk.

Officials said that the house of Nityananda of Moodanidamburu village, Leela Shetty of Hirebattu village, Ananta Nayak of 80 Badagabettu village, and Radha Marakalti of Kumragodu village were partially damaged.

The house of Chaitra S Rao of Atradi has been completely damaged. The loss is estimated to be 2.50 lakh. Udupi district recorded an average rainfall of 23.3 mm.

Byndoor recorded the highest (56.5 mm) and Udupi had the lowest (6 mm). Kundapura recorded 34.9 mm, Karkala 11 mm, Hebri 10.6 mm, Kaup 8.5 mm and Brahmavara 8.3 mm.
