Palakkad division receives Zonal Railway Week awards
Mangaluru, May 08, 2022: Palakkad Railway Division bagged the General Manager’s Inter-divisional Overall Efficiency (Runner-Up) shield for the performance for the year 2021- 22.
The Division also bagged the best performance shields for Mechanical, Signal and Telecommunications, Security Branches and Inter Divisional Rajbhasha Rolling Shield, Best Divisional Store award, and Best Maintained Rake Award-Maveli Express (Mangaluru Central – Thiruvananthapuram).
Divisional Railway Manager, Trilok Kothari received the shield from General Manager, Southern Railway, B.G. Mallya on the occasion of the 67th Railway Week Celebrations of Southern Railway held at Chennai on May 6. Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer, Palakkad, Jithin Nelson, Senior Divisional Signal & Telecommunications Engineer, K.M. Basha, Senior Divisional Security Officer, Palakkad, Jethin B.Raj, Senior Divisonal Materials Manager, T. Prasannavenkatesan Rajbhasha Adhikari, Binita Soy received the shields for the respective branches.
In addition to this, 15 individual awards were also received by the Division.
Maveli Express bags the best maintained rake award
The IMS certified Mangaluru Central – Thiruvananthapuram, “Maveli Express” maintained by Coaching Depot, Mangaluru in Palakkad division has been awarded the best-maintained rake in Southern Railway in the 67th Zonal Railway Week celebrations of Southern Railway.
The criteria for the selection were the impeccable cleanliness of the coaches, maintaining high safety standards during maintenance and conformance of all specified passenger amenities. Shri B. G Mallya, General Manager, Southern Railway presented the Shield for the best-maintained rake- Maveli Express to Shri Himanshu Priyadarshi (Coaching Depot Officer, Mangaluru) in the presence of Shri Jithin Nelson (Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer, Palakkad), Shri Trilok Kothari (Divisional Railway Manager, Palakkad) and Shri Gautam Dutta (Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Southern Railway.
