Srinivas University observes World Water Day
Mangaluru, March 23, 2022: World Water Day 2022 was observed at Srinivas University, Mukka on Tuesday.
The program was organized by SRISTICA and Department of Civil Engineering, Srinivas University.
B Govind Ramesh, Managing Director, Agrima Roof & Façade Systems, Bengaluru inaugurated the event.
“Water is a gift of nature, and hence, being a Civil Engineering student, it is the prime duty to create awareness to use water effectively and efficiently. There is a need to save water and water resources for the present and future generations,” he said.
Dr. Thomas Pinto, Dean, Srinivas University Institute of Engineering & Technology presided over the program. Dr. Ramakrishna Hegde, HoD, Dept of Civil Engineering, Prof Shrinath Rao K, Faculty Coordinator, SRISTICA, and Delson D’Souza, President, SRISTICA, were present.
In his Presidential Remarks, Dr. Thomas Pinto said that around 25% of the population on the Earth does not have adequate fresh drinking water.
“Other than Earth, there is no planet where water is available. It is highly impossible to dream of living without water. Hence, we must Save Water for the survival of everyone and sustainable development,” he added.
Dr. Praveen B M, Director Research, Srinivas University, Dr. Shreeprakash B, HoD, Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Sanjay S, Training & Placement Officer, Milan Karanth, Office Manager, Civil Engineering Faculty Members, and Civil Engineering Students were present.
Prof. Prasanna P. Rao delivered the vote of thanks. Final Year B.Tech Civil Engineering students Thanya Girish and Nidhi Kheni compered the program.
