Kasturba Hospital presents Dr. T M A Pai Arogya Sevak Awards
Manipal, March 20, 2022: Kasturba Hospital is celebrating 60 years of providing healthcare to the community. The hospital plans to hold various community-based activities with the tagline “Patient First Always Since 1962.’
As a part of this Kasturba Hospital, Manipal presented Dr. T M A Pai Arogya Sevak Awards to senior retired Doctors from Udupi District and launched the Privilege card to Doctors. The event was held at Hotel Fortune Inn Valley View.
Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao and MAHE Pro-Chancellor Dr. H S Ballal jointly launched the Privilege card. The card will be given to all the referring doctors.
In his inaugural address, Kurma Rao M lauded Kasturba Hospital for providing quality health care services at an affordable cost to the population, not only in Karnataka but also globally, and praised the efforts of healthcare personnel.
He also appreciated the healthcare workforce for their devotion during the pandemic and expressed gratitude to MAHE management for standing with the district administration in all of their endeavors.
Five senior consultants from Udupi districts – Dr. Shaila S Nayak from Karkala, Dr. Girish Shenoy from Karkala, Dr. Krishnadeva Kalkura from Udupi, Dr. N Sureshchandra Shetty from Mandarthi, and Dr. Ampar Vasnathkumar Shetty from Kundapura were felicitated with Dr. T M A Pai Arogya Sevak Award.
Lt. Gen. (Dr) M D Venkatesh, Vice-Chancellor, MAHE Manipal who spoke on the occasion said that Kasturba Hospital has introduced the Privilege Card as a little gift of gratitude for the services of the doctors who support KMC hospital.
Dr. PLNG Rao, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Medical and Dental Science) MAHE congratulated the recipients of the Dr. TMA Pai Arogya Sevak Award.
“Late Dr. TMA Pai, was a great visionary who always used to think much ahead of time and established Kasturba Hospital Manipal in 1962. He also stated that Kasturba Hospital Manipal is a tertiary care hospital that serves the healthcare requirements of Karnataka as well as a part of Kerala,” Dr. Ballal said in his presidential address.
CG Muthana, Regional COO, gave an overview of the Privilege card. Dr. Sharath Kumar, Dean KMC welcomed the gathering, and Dr. Avinash Shetty, Medical Superintendent proposed the vote of thanks.
Top officials from MAHE Manipal were present. The event was followed by an entertainment program.
