Mangaluru, March 04, 2022: “Handicraft fairs help in artisans of various parts of the country knowing each other,” said Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

He was speaking at the launch of the Handicraft Fair organized by the Textile Ministry and Pilikula Development Authority at the Urban Haat in Pilikula on Friday.

The Fair is organized to prevent the harassment of the middlemen and also to provide a direct market to the artisans.

“It will also help artisans know each other. People from various parts of the country like West Bengal, Orissa, have opened stalls at the fair. People of the district should make use of this and encourage the artisans,” he said.

K. Ravindra Shetty, Moodushedde Gram Panchayat Chairperson Jayashri, Pilikula Development Authority Commissioner Venkatesh, and other officials and traders were present.
