Ram Chandra Prasad Singh visits New Mangalore Port
Singh appreciates Port developmental works and the infrastructure facilities
Mangaluru, Feb 20, 2022: Union Minister of Steel, Ram Chandra Prasad Singh visited New Mangalore Port today.
He was welcomed by Port Chairman Dr. A. V. Ramana, Deputy Chairman, and senior officials.
The Minister took a ride on a tug boat inside the Port and oversaw the berths and various infrastructural facilities provided by the Port. The Port officials explained the various infrastructural and technological advancements harnessed by the Port.
Singh held a meeting with the Port Management, Officials of KIOCL, and JSW. He reviewed the handling facilities for iron ore fines, raw materials import, and export of iron ore pellets of KIOCL at the Port and discussed in detail the future plans.
During the meeting, Port Chairman spoke about the Port’s future plans as well as a host of initiatives undertaken to enhance its Ease of Doing Business and also about the Green Port Initiatives, future expansion programs, infrastructure projects, and other proposals for enhancing the productivity of the Port.
Singh appreciated the Port developmental works and the infrastructure facilities provided.
The Minister’s visit to the Port was part of his two-day official visit to Kudremukh Iron Ore Co. Ltd. (KIOCL), Mangaluru on Feb 19 and 20.
