Cancer awareness rally held at Karwar Naval Base
Karwar, Feb 05, 2022: Station Health Organization (SHO) Karwar in coordination with Head Quarters Karnataka Naval Area, INS Kadamba, and Navy Children School, Karwar conducted a Cancer awareness rally on Feb 4 at the Naval base.
The event was held on the occasion of World Cancer Day.
The rally was flagged off by Capt V Shirdikant, Commanding Officer, INS Kadamba. Around 120 students from Class VI -X participated in the event.
A poster-making competition was held for students of NCS on the World Cancer Day theme “Close the Care Gap” on the occasion. The prize winners were felicitated by Surg Capt JS Randhawa, Commanding Officer, INHS Patanjali.
Surg Cdr Santosh Kumar Swain, PMO, INS Kadamba gave a presentation to teachers and school students at NCS Auditorium. The focus of the presentation was on primary prevention and knowing the symptoms and various preventive aspects of cancer.
