Residential school in Joida declared containment zone
19 students tested Covid positive
Karwar, Dec 21, 2021: The residential school in Joida Taluk with 19 Covid positive students has been declared as a containment zone.
Officials led by Assistant Commissioner Vidyashri Chandaragi, DHO Dr. Sharad Nayak, Surveillance Officer Dr. Vinod, Tahsildar, EO, and others visited the school and took necessary measures at the school.
Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan said in a press statement that the students who tested positive have been isolated in the school building. The swab samples of other students have been collected and sent for testing.
In total samples of 155 students have been sent for testing. An ambulance also has been placed.
The Deputy Commissioner has asked the people to follow Covid guidelines.
“Officials have been directed to take proper action against those who fail to wear masks or those who do not follow social distancing,” the DC said.
