Mangaluru International Airport observes Armed Forces Flag Day
MIA displayed standees at the arrival hall, international security hold area (SHA) and the check-in area as per instruction from the Ministry of Civil Aviation
Mangaluru, Dec 07, 2021: Mangaluru International Airport observed Armed Forces Flag Day (AFFD) to honor the martyrs as well as the personnel in uniform, who keep vigil on the country’s borders to safeguard its sovereignty.
The Armed Forces Flag Day is observed on December 7 every year since 1949. The day is meant to honour martyrs, and the brave soldiers who serve this country. Also known as India’s Flag Day, the day is dedicated to raising funds from Indian citizens for the welfare of the Indian Army.
MIA displayed standees at the arrival hall, international security hold area (SHA) and the check-in area as per instruction from the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA). The airport also displayed the AFFD message on the flight information display system (FIDS) in the check-in area at periodic intervals.
The message read – They answered the Nation’s call… remained unwavered and gave their all. For our freedom, they paid the price. Let’s salute their valour and sacrifice. Wear the Flag with Pride. MIA also announced the Armed Forces Flag Day message highlighting the valour of Indian Armed Forces on the PA system.
