Yoga training camp held at St Mary’s College
Shriva, Nov 29, 2021: St Mary’s College Shirva organized Yoga Training Camp for the students today.
Ranjith Punar, Yoga Guru, Shirva Zone Patanjali Yoga Samithi who was the resource person of the camp stated the importance of Yoga.
“Yoga helps in controlling mind and body. This will help in solving many health ailments,” he said.
The camp was organized jointly by NCC and the Yoga and Fitness Cell of the college.
“In today’s competitive world, young people should be healthy by engaging in physical activity, yoga, and sports. The National Education Policy aims to create healthy youth because of which yoga and sports have been made part of education,” Dr. Herald Ivan Monis, Principal of the college said in his presidential address.
Yoga Guru Ananth Raya Shenoy, Yoga and Fitness Cell director Jeff Sunny D’Souza, College Students Association director Yashodha, senior lecturer Vittal Nayak, NCC Officer Lt K Praveen Kumar, Annaiah, faculty, staff, and students were present. Chandana welcomed the gathering, Shravya offered vote of thanks and Harshitha compered the program. Invocation was by Deepthi and team.
