Safai Karmachari Commission chief directs officials to provide basic facilities to Pourakarmikas

Mangaluru, Oct 29, 2021: State Safai Karmachari Commission chairman M Shivanna directed the officials to provide restrooms, toilets, and other basic facilities to the Pourakarmikas.

“Mustering Points should be identified and restrooms should be provided to the Pourakarmikas within 6 months. The district administration and Mangaluru City Corporation commissioner have been given necessary directions in connection to this,” he said.

“At present Rs 20 is provided for the breakfast of the Pourakarmikas. But many have stated this to be too less. So a recommendation has been submitted to the state government to increase it to Rs 50,” he said.

There is also a plan to provide 1 glass of milk and egg every day to the Pourakarmikas. The government will decide this at the cabinet meeting,” he said.
