MIT’s Team MotoManipal ranked in Top 3 at National Online E-Bike Design Challenge
Manipal Oct 26, 2021: The students of Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) – MAHE bagged 3rd prize at the National Online E-bike design challenge.
The third edition of the National Online E-Bike Design Challenge (NOEBDC) was organized by the Fraternity of Mechanical and Automotive Engineers (FMAE). The competition involving 16 teams from across the country was held between July-October 2021.
Cdr. (Dr.) Anil Rana, Director, Manipal Institute of Technology congratulated the team on their performance.
“We are extremely proud of Team MotoManipal’s achievement. The team faced tremendous difficulties in the pandemic days and still fought to finish at a respectable position in the competition,” he said.
The FMAE Online Electric Bike Design Challenge is an initiative for engineering student teams to get exposure to Design Challenges in India. Teams around the country get an opportunity to design an electric bike powered by a 2 KW Brushless DC Motor using different CAD Modelling software. Every team has done complete research and development and must try to develop an efficient Electric Bike.
Manipal’s team of 2nd and 3rd year engineering students took part in the competition.
“It is always a good feeling to finish on the podium in a National Level competition. It was a great learning experience for the entire team. The takeaways from the competition will help us in our future endeavors. Our main goal now is to participate in MotoStudent – Electric which takes place in Aragon, Spain,” the team leader said.
