Rain damages houses, crops in Udupi
Udupi, Oct 13, 2021: Heavy rain and wind has damaged five houses in Udupi district.
Since last few days the Coastal districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada are experiencing heavy rain.
Officials said the houses of Susheela Poojarthi of Nandikoor village, Lalitha of Padu village, Mohan Bhandary of Belapu village, Danial Menezes of Belle village, and Shakunthala of Udyavara were partially damaged due to rain and wind.
The heavy rain on October 12 also damaged the paddy crop of Krishna Shetty of Kanajaru village in Karkala Taluk.
As on Wednesday morning, Udupi district recorded an average of 92.3 mm rainfall. Kaup recorded the highest- 196.3 mm rain.
The southern Taluks of Udupi district recorded heavy rain compared to the northern Taluks.
