Mangaluru, Sept 30, 2021: Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts have begun preparations for the success of the month-long ‘Clean India,’ program. The drive starts tomorrow.

The Deputy Commissioners of both the districts held a meeting today for the effective enforcement of the program.

Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K V said that the plastics thrown in public places should be cleared and disposed appropriately during the drive.

Rajendra directed the officials to create awareness of the bad effects of plastic. He asked the local bodies to involve organizations and volunteers in making the program a success.


In Udupi, the program will be inaugurated on October 1 at MGM College at 9 am.

District Planning Officer Shrinivas Rao and Nehru Yuva Kendra youth officer Wilfred D’Souza have been appointed as the nodal officials for the program.
