Udupi aims to vaccinate 80 thousand people on Sept 17
Udupi, Sept 15, 2021: The Udupi district aims to vaccinate 80,000 people during the Mega vaccination drive on September 17.
Speaking to reporters Udupi DC Kurma Rao said vaccination will be conducted at 300 centers in the district.
Various organizations have joined hands in this task. The health department officials, AYUSH officials, Health Assistants and workers, Asha, Anganwadi workers, Task Force members, Medical officials of Medical Colleges, nurses, medical students, and school teachers will participate in this.
The target (18+ age group) in the district is 10,02,762 people. Till date 8,47,940 (84.6%) have taken the first dose and 3,45,558 (34.5%) have taken the second dose.
“We will have a phone-in program on September 16. People can contact to clear their queries on Covid vaccination,” the DC said.
Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr. Naveen Bhat said that the aim is to conduct 100 percent vaccination in border villages.
“A nodal officer will be appointed for 100-200 houses. He will be given the responsibility of identifying the people who are not vaccinated and getting them to the center,” Dr. Bhat said.
