Shirva, Sept 11, 2021: Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 was organized by 21 Karnataka Battalion NCC Udupi and Shirva St Mary’s College NCC Unit today.

“Every Youth and every house should follow the mantra of ‘Health is Wealth’ to keep young Indians fit. People should involve in some kind of exercise,” College principal Dr. Herald Ivan Monis said.

He administered the oath to the cadets and flagged off the Run.

Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 included oath-taking, rendering of National Anthem, Freedom Run, cultural functions, awareness among Youth Volunteers to participate, and also organizing similar Freedom Runs in their villages.

“The program is a tribute to the Great Bravery Indian Army officer Captain Vikram Batra who sacrificed his life in Kargil war,” Company Sergeant Quarter Master Raina Andrade Pravitha.

The Run was from College to Kaup Road covering 2 km. As many as 28 cadets and one ANO participated. Company Sergeant Chennabhasavayya, all cadets, Teaching and Administrative Staff were present. Senior Under Officer Bhat Ramdas Sathish Welcomed the gathering and Junior Under Officer Rion Rishi Alphonso proposed the vote of thanks.
College NCC Officer Lieutenant K Praveen Kumar compered the program.
