Udupi, July 16, 2021: Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ welfare Shobha Karandlaje has assured to complete the pending projects in Udupi district by taking them up with the concerned Union ministers.
Karandlaje held a meeting through video conference on rain damage with the officials of the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency today.
Shobha asked the officials to prepare a list of pending projects and submit it to her.
She said she had discussed with the central minister about the new harbor at Uppunda under the Sagar Mala project. The project is worth ₹ 130 crore.
She said the Central government is coming up with the new fisheries policy and asked to collect the suggestions to the central government.
Collecting details about the Covid cases in the district, Shobha directed the officials to take necessary measures.
She asked the officials to provide compensation to the rain-affected families at the earliest and take necessary preventive measures by identifying the flood-prone areas.
