Bommai inaugurates Health Checkup Camp for children
Karkala, June 28, 2021: State Home Minister and District In-charge Minister Basavaraj Bommai inaugurated ‘Vatsalya,’- health checkup camp for children today.
“Various studies have shown concern about Covid third wave affecting the children. The government is taking all preventive measures,” Bommai told reporters at Karkala.
The government is organizing special camps to boost immunity power and also decrease malnutrition among the children.
“Special camps are held at the schools in all the villages under every PHC. There will be a general checkup to deal with malnutrition and also a special checkup by the pediatricians to look into serious health concerns,” he said.
The camp is jointly organized by the education, health, revenue, and Panchayat Raj department.
“Many parents are not in a position to take children to the hospital for a checkup. This is a move that will take the healthcare system to the village. We want to ensure the health of the children,” he added.
While the woman and child welfare department will provide the food kit, the health department will supply the materials to boost the nutrition level among the children.
