Udupi DC directs officials to construct service road at Balaipade

Udupi, June 22, 2021: Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh today directed the National Highway Authority officials to construct a service road at Balaipade near Udyavara to prevent accidents and traffic congestion.

He presided over a meeting related to the service road at his office today.

“As there is no service road to the Udupi-Balaipade-Udyavara road there is traffic congestion here. Also, people take the wrong side to Highway due to which many accidents take place here. To prevent traffic congestion and accidents, there is a need for service road,” he said and asked the officials to take up the work at the earliest.

The DC also noted the number of accidents at Karavli Hotel Junction, Katapadi, and Ambagilu junctions and also at Shastri Circle, Brahmavar, and near Mahesh Hospital and Barkoor cross. He directed the officials to take up the income work in those places.

Jagadeesh asked the police department to mark the black spots (accident zones) on the Highway and take necessary preventive measures after a joint inspection.
