St. Mary’s College Shirva celebrates International Yoga Day

Shirva, June 21, 2021: The NCC unit of St. Mary’s College, Shirva celebrated International Yoga Day under the theme of “Yoga from Home”.

In the wake of the Covid pandemic and restrictions from the government, the event was held virtually.

NCC officer Lieutenant K Praveen Kumar symbolically launched the event by performing yoga asanas and inspired the youth to take part in the event. Dr. Herald Ivan Monis, Principal of the college conveyed his wishes to the participants.

Yoga from home competition was held on the occasion. The students of various schools, colleges, and even the public from Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Chikkamagaluru, Belagavi, Dharwad, and Uttar Kannada participated in this competition.

21 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Udupi Unit Administrative Officer Lieutenant Colonel Parminder Singh, College, and school NCC Officers, Unit Coordinator Yashoda, Senior Under officer Bharat Ramdas Sathish Shetty, Junior Under Officer Pravitha Acharya, Rion Rishi Alphonso, Company Sergent Quarter Master Rain Andrade, Company Sergent Major Prathima, Teaching and Non-teaching staff, students as well as all the NCC cadets assisted in organizing the program.
