Temple visit: District administration to strictly implement lockdown rules
Mangaluru, June 19, 2021: Those who stealthily go for religious places amidst Lockdown be aware as the District Administration has taken this seriously and decided to book cases against the violators.

As per rules, only regular pooja by the temple authorities and personnel are allowed to be held at all the temples. Though there is restriction on outsiders visiting the temple, there are many incidents of people visiting famous temples in Dakshina Kannada even from other districts like Bengaluru.
Taking serious note of this Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K V has declared to book FIR against those people going to temples and also seizing their vehicle.
“We do not have any idea to open religious places for next two weeks. Additional checkpoints will be put up at places like Periyashanthi, Charmadi, and Ujire to ensure devotees do not come from outside to the temples here. We cannot allow this during lockdown restrictions,” he said.
“Officials will book FIR against the violators and also seize their vehicles if outsiders are found going to religious places and temples in the district,” Dr. Rajendra told during a virtual press conference.
Temple administrations too have been asked to ensure no outsiders are allowed into the temple.
“We have asked the temples to send devotees back,” he added.
