Rangapooja at renovated Paniyadi Temple
Udupi, June 14, 2021: Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Sripadaru, the Peetadhipathi of Puthige Matha attended the Rangapooja at the renovated Sri Lakshmi Ananthapadmanabha Temple in Paniyadi on Monday.
The renovated temple has a history of about 1,000 years.
The Ancient sacred temple traditionally belongs to Sri Puthige Matha and was in dilapidated condition. Sugunendra Tirtha Sripadaru took a keen interest in giving a facelift to the temple. He took the Sankalpa to renovate the temple and restore the past glory befitting its stature and significance.
The Asta Mangala Prasna stated Shri Madhwacharya himself had visited the temple and offered prayers to Shri Ananthapadmanabha here.
The newly built temple attracts devotees with its beautiful carvings and artworks.

The carvings of Tirtha Mantapa and the Dashavathara around the temple are the special attraction in the temple which is managed by Sri Puthige Matha.
The Shila Muhurtham of the temple was done on November 27 and the renovation work has been completed in a record time under the leadership of Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Sripadaru, Puthige Matha Diwan Nagaraj Acharya, and the support of Paniyadi and nearby areas.
While every villager was instrumental by making donations through money, material, and ‘Shramadana,’ the team including Nagaraja Acharya, Rajesh Bhat Paniyadi, Shrinivas Acharya, Anantha Bhat, Sadashiva, Shiva Bhat, Raghavendra Bhat, and Vijayaraghava Rao was active in the renovation work.
