Mangaluru Mayor visits water treatment plant
Mangaluru, May 26, 2021: Mangaluru Mayor Premanand Shetty visited the Thumbe Water treatment plant today following complaints of muddy water in several wards.
People in Mangaladevi, Jappinamogaru, Kannuru, Jalligudde, Faisal Nagar, Ekkur, Pandeshwar, Ashoknagar, Shaktinagar, Alape, Kudupu, Kodikal, Uwar, Morgansgate, Kunjathabail, and Marakada are complaining of muddy water for the last few days.
Taking note of this problem, the Mayor along with Corporators and officials visited the plant today.
The work of Tube Settler Chambers under the Amrut project is in progress. Of the four Chambers, the work of three is completed. Due to lockdown, the transportation of tubes from Maharastra is delayed for the completion of the fourth chamber. As the work is in progress, several parts of the city are receiving muddy water.
The contractors assured the Mayor to complete the work in a week.
The Mayor asked the contractors to use the old tubes if there is a further delay in the arrival of new ones.
Former Mayor and Congress leader Bhaskar K, Corporators Chandravathi, Kishore Kottari, and officials were present.
