PDS shops asked not to make biometric compulsory
Mangaluru, May 22, 2021: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner has asked PDS shops not to make biometric compulsory.
“Since the Aadhaar OTP system is in force there is no room for confusion. The shopkeepers should not pressurize people for biometric,” the DC said in a press statement.
All the PDS shops have been asked to start distributing the supplies by 7 am every day and all those in the queue or already issued tokens should be provided food supplies even after 10 am.
All the shops have been asked to put up the board mentioning the supply quantity of May month. Any cardholder should not be provided less than the quantity released by the government. White rice and boiled rice should be provided in equal quantities.
The shopkeepers have been asked to follow Covid guidelines. The cardholders of other districts can collect supplies from the nearby shop that has enough stock.
