Udupi: Man falls to death from coconut tree
Hebri, May 12, 2021: An elderly person died after falling from a coconut tree at Shivapura near Hebri on May 11.
Police said that Srinivas (69) of Guddeyangadi Ugranikatte had been to his brother’s plantation at Mullugudde Kulai of Shivapura village to pluck coconut on May 11.
He climbed the tree using a ladder and was plucking coconut using a stick when a coconut fell on his head. Srinivas who lost balance fell sustaining serious injuries to his chest and stomach.
He was immediately taken to District Government Hospital. He did not respond to the treatment and died at 2.50 pm.
An Unnatural Death Report (UDR) is registered at Hebri police station under CrPC Section 174.
