Udupi, May 12, 2021: Kaup Police have arrested six people who were allegedly involved in illegal cattle slaughter.

Based on credible information the police team led by Kaup SI Raghavendra C spotted some people with four calf and also some amount of beef near Sunni Center, Muluru village. The police raided the spot and arrested six people. Three escaped.

The accused are identified as Mansur Ahmed alias Ahmed Mansoor, Mahammad Azeruddin, Nawaz, Mohammed Haneef alias Ashfaq, Mohammed Ismail, and Umarabba. Ismail, Rafiq, Abbu Mohammed were those who escaped from the spot.

The accused said that five stray cattle were brought in a pickup vehicle from Majoor. Of these one was already slaughtered and sold.

The police have seized four calf, about 30 kg of beef, and other materials used for slaughter and sale.
A case under various sections of Karnataka Anti Cow Slaughter, Prevention of Animal Cruelty Act and IPC.
