CAMPCO to buy areca during lockdown
Mangaluru, April 27, 2021: Amidst 14-day COVID Curfew imposed by the state government, The CAMPCO Ltd will continue business at its branches.
However considering the health and welfare of the staff and members, The CAMPCO has imposed some restrictions
- Token system will be followed during purchase in all branches. Every day a maximum of 25 members can sell (1 quintal per person). A member can sell a maximum of 1 quintal per week. Members can call their nearest branch for their token.
- There will not be purchase of pepper and rubber at any of the branches.
- The cocoa purchase will continue in all the branches.
The CAMPCO has also alerted about the rumors making round about the fall in areca price.
“They are just rumors and spread by private traders to cheat farmers. The areca price is stable. Farmers should not listen to these rumors,” CAMPCO president said.
