DC instructs agencies to coordinate and work
Mangaluru, March 18, 2021: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K V advised all the agencies involved in road cutting works for their projects to work in a coordinated manner and ensure that people do not face hardship.
While on one hand, Mangaluru City Corporation undertakes concretization and asphalt nation of roads, these roads are dug within a few days repeatedly for works like laying pipelines, cables and other works putting public under hardship and causing traffic congestions in the city.
Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K V who took note of this directed the officials to take necessary action during a meeting held on Wednesday.
“Works related to Smart City, Gas pipeline, Works by MCC including underground drainage and drinking water are being undertaken in the city. If all the officials and engineers have coordination and do the work at a time then people will not face the problem,” he said.
Meanwhile, the DC directed the Smart City Project officials to complete all the works at the earliest and ensure that people do not face problems due to the prolonged work.
“Court has ordered to continue the smart city works. Already 31 works have been taken up. Those which are nearing completion should be completed at the earliest. The remaining should be done before monsoon,” he said.
He asked the officials to deploy extra manpower and complete the work by undertaking the work round the clock in those places where the work has led to traffic diversion.
He said that though people face problems during the work, once completed they would experience the change.
