Take strict measures to prevent COVID-19 second wave: Uttara Kannada ZP chief
Karwar, March 15, 2021: Uttara Kannada Zilla Panchayat president Jayashri Moger has directed the officials to take all the measures to prevent COVID second wave.
Presiding over the monthly KDP meeting at the ZP office today, the president directed the officials to ensure all the COVID guidelines are strictly followed in the district. She also asked the health officials to speedup the vaccination drive.
District Health and Family Welfare Officer (DHO) Sharad Nayak said that the Central and State governments have issued guidelines.
He said that the health checkup of those who come from other states is being conducted. He added that the target in the third phase of vaccination is 1.30 lakh in the district. Already 13,000 people have taken vaccination.
The meeting also discussed issues like education, agriculture, fisheries, minor irrigation, National highways, and horticulture.
‘Uttara Kannada Jilleya Anki Amshagala Nota,’ a booklet comprising statistics of the districts was released on the occasion.
