Karnataka steps up to prevent second wave: Revises daily test target of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Bengaluru..
Udupi/Mangaluru, March 12, 2021: The daily COVID test target of Dakshina Kannada has been revised to 3,000 and Udupi to 2,000.
With several districts recording a rise in COVID cases in recent days, the state government has decided to take several preventive measures to stop the second wave. A circular was issued today by the government revising the test target and also narrating the urgent steps to be taken by the district administrations.
As a preventive measure the state government has revised the daily COVID testing target of the districts
- Belagavi: 3,000, Bengaluru and BBMP: 40,000,
- Dakshina Kannada: 3,000,
- Mysuru: 5,000,
- Kodagu: 1,000,
- Udupi: 2,000,
- Tumakuru: 3,500
- Vijayapura: 2,000.
There is no change in the target in other districts.
The government has also directed Dakshina Kannada, Bidar, Bengaluru City, Bengaluru Rural, Kalburgi, and Udupi districts to speed up finding the contacts. The identification should be in a 1:20 ratio.
