Udupi, Feb 28, 2021: Four sovereign gold and ₹ 20 thousand cash were stolen from a house in Udupi yesterday.

As Shrikanath, a resident near Sharada Mantapa had been to Kerala, he left the keys with his nephew Shravan Kumar.

On February 27 at 10.30 am Shravan had locked the house and left to his house in Hayagriva Nagar. At night around 11.15 pm when he came to his uncle’s house, he found the upstairs door open. He saw the cupboards were opened. A golden chain weighing 4 sovereign worth about ₹ 1.20 lakh and ₹ 20 thousand were stolen.

A case under IPC Section 454 (Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking to commit offence), 457 (Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night to commit offence) and 390 (Robbery) has been filed at Udupi Town Police Station.
