Childline number to be displayed in school buses

Udupi, Feb 25, 2021: Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh has instructed schools to display the Childline number- 1098 on all the school buses.

He was speaking after presiding over the review meeting at his office today.

“Children should be provided information about the need and use of contacting the number. Also, every bus should have a complaint box,” he said.

Jagadeesh also instructed the Panchayat level women and child protection committees to hold review meetings once in three months and submit the reports based on the complaints received in the meeting.

G Jagadeesh instructed the Port department to ensure Children do not enter the Malpe Fishing Harbor.

The Child Protection Committee should identify the counselors in schools.
