Prove corruption in Smart City project: BJP challenges Lobo
Mangaluru, Jan 16, 2021: Senior Corporator and BJP leader Sudhir Shetty Kannur has challenged former MLA J R Lobo to prove corruption in Mangaluru Smart City Project.
“In the recently held protest by the Congress, J R Lobo who had earlier served as the Commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation, had alleged that the smart city project is marred by corruption. Instead of giving such vague statement let him pinpoint at the specific work,” Sudhir Shetty demanded.
“About 19 major road works worth ₹250 crores was taken up when Congress was in power at Mangaluru City Corporation. The proposal was sent and the work order was issued when U T Khader was the Urban Development Minister. These works have taken pace now. Now it is for Lobo to prove corruption,” he challenged.
He said that BJP has not allowed corruption anywhere and to ensure transparency a committee led by IAS officer has been formed.
