School reopening: Kundapur tops in attendance


Udupi, Jan 01, 2021: Over 80 percent students in Kundapur block attended the education activities, making it highest in the district.
After a gap of about nine months, regular classes have started for SSLC and II PUC students from today. The students from 6th to 9th will participate in the Vidyagama program.
Kundapur block saw the highest number of turnout in the district. Government schools recorded 86 percent followed by 82.12 in aided schools and 80.89 in unaided schools.
As schools and colleges reopened for students today, Udupi Zilla Panchayat president Dinakar Babu examined the safety measures taken at the schools.
Dinakar Babu who met some of the teachers asked them to follow all the guidelines mentioned by the government. He also discussed the attendance and the reaction of students and parents.
Attendance: In Udupi district, the attendance of the government school students was highest followed by aided and unaided.
While 59.53 percent students of government schools attended the activities, 55 percent of aided schools were present. The turnout of the unaided school students was the lowest (36.93 percent).
Udupi district DDPI said that all schools except one in Hebri had reopened in the district. The one was shut as a precautionary measure as some of the teachers tested COVID positive.
