Uttara Kannada gears up for counting
Karwar, Dec 29, 2020: Uttara Kannada district has geared up for the counting on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Harish Kumar K said that the counting will be for 972 wards of 227 Gram Panchayats. As many as 1077 people will be involved in counting.
“Counting of every Taluk will be supervised by a district-level officer appointed as nodal officer. The election observers will also keep a tab on the process,” he said.
All Tahsildars, Election Officers and Assistant Election Officers have been asked to ensure transparency in counting and also follow all the COVID guidelines.
“Wearing a mask is compulsory for those involved in counting, candidates, and their agents. Strict action will be initiated against the violators,” the DC warned.
He also said that if there are any objections related to counting, the candidates or their agents should bring it to the notice of the officials without creating it in the counting center.
“Strict legal action would be initiated against those who violate this” he added.
