Mangaluru, Dec 30, 2020: In connection to the Pro-Pakistan slogan at Ujire, Belthangady Police have booked a case against SDPI party supporters.

A press statement by the police said that a case under IPC Section 143 (unlawful assembly), 124A (Sedition) read with 149 (unlawful assembly with common objective) has been booked at Belthangady Police Station.

The police are searching for those who shouted slogans.

No pro-Pak slogan shouted at Ujire: SDPI

Mangaluru, Dec 30, 2020: The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has clarified that no pro-Pak slogan was shouted outside the counting center at Ujire.

“SDPI workers were celebrating party supported candidates’ victory. They had just shouted ‘SDPI Zindabad.’ Nobody had shouted pro Pak slogans,” SDPI DK unit president Athavulla Jokatte said in a press statement.

“The slogans would sound like Pro Pak to only those who wish to hear such slogans from SDPI,” he said.

He also added that the party has also approached the police to bookcase against the TV reporter who had spread false news.

Pro-Pak slogan: Police begin probe

Mangaluru, Dec 30, 2020: Within minutes after the video of miscreants shouting pro-Pakistan slogans went viral on social media, Daksina Kannada district police have started a probe.

The video was clicked outside SDM PU College, Ujire where the counting is taking place. A group of political party workers were seen celebrating. Amidst this, some people are heard shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad.’

Within minutes the video went viral and reached the police too.
The district police have started a probe into this.

“On December 30 during counting at Ujire, some miscreants allegedly shouted pro-Pakistan statement. This video is making rounds on social media. Police are examining the video. A case would be booked into this and inquiry held,” Superintendent of Police stated in a press communique.

If there are any other videos, that can help police probe, people can send them to Control Room number 9480805300, the press statement added.
