Udupi DC speaks on UK COVID strain

Udupi, Dec 29, 2020: While all those who had come to Udupi from the UK had tested negative, Udupi DC G Jagadeesh said that the health department has kept a tab on their health condition. They will be tested again if they develop any symptoms.

“Thirty-six people had come to Udupi from the United Kingdom. In the COVID test, all tested negative. But as a precautionary measure they are in 14-day quarantine,” the DC said.

“They are in contact with our health department officials. We have kept a tab on their health condition. If any symptoms we will conduct the test again. People need not fear,” he said.

“However people should follow all the precautionary measures like wearing a face mask and maintaining social distancing. We have been and will continue to impose fine on those who have violated these,” he added.
