Udupi, Dec 28, 2020: Police booked a person and seized 4 kg beef from him at Gangolli in Udupi district.

Gangolli Sub Inspector Bhimashankar Sinnora Sanganna was on election duty on December 27 when he received credible information about a person visiting houses and selling beef near Gangolli fish market.

Acting on the tipoff Bhimashankar and his staff rushed to the spot and found one Abdul Rahim (30) carrying 4 kg illegal beef worth Rs 500.

Abdul Rahim was arrested by the police.

A case under Section 4, 5, 7, and 11 of Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Prevention Act – 1964 and section 11(1) and (D) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960.
