Mangaluru, Dec 27, 2020: The District Health Officer (DHO) has asked the nursing and Para Medical Colleges who plan to start classes from January 1 to make COVID negative certificate compulsory.

“Many nursing and paramedical colleges plan to start classes from January 1. Most of the students are from Kerala or other states and also other districts of Karnataka. Kerala is still witnessing a large number of COVID cases. It is necessary to prevent the second wave from entering the district,” a press note by the DHO stated.

“The heads of all the colleges who intend to start classes from January 1 should ask the students, teaching, and non-teaching to undergo RT-PCR test 72 hours before the classes. Only those who produce COVID negative certificate should be allowed to attend classes,” he added.

He has also asked all the institutions to follow the SOP stated by the Central and State governments.
