Karwar Excise Department seizes Goa Feni

Karwar, Dec 23, 2020: In the backdrop of Gram Panchayat elections, the Excise Department has beefed up surveillance in Uttara Kannada district.

On Monday the officials raided the house of one Vinod Balachandra Ambiga of Tarivada (Kille) of Sadashivagad and seized liquor worth about ₹12,570.

During the raid at 2 pm on Monday, the officials seized 45 ltrs of Goa Feni and 5.500 ltrs of Goa Beer. The accused is absconding. A case has been registered by the Excise Inspector of Karwar.

Excise Inspectors Dayanand, Basavaraj Karavinakoppa along with Shivanand Koreddi, Nagaraj Hoovinala, Viresh Kuriyavar, Praveenkumar Kallilli, C R Patil and drivers Imtiaz, Ravichandra Naik.

Sector officials V S Shebannavar, Chittakula PDO Rajesh S Naik were part of the operation.
