Youth drowns in waterfalls
Udupi, Dec 21, 2020: A youth drowned in the Arbi waterfalls of Kervashe on Sunday evening.
Kiran, Sunil Poojary, Purushottam, Ravichandra, Shailesh Shetty had been to Arbi falls in Kervashe village of Karkala Taluk on Sunday afternoon.
They were bathing at the falls when Kiran (21) went to address nature’s call.
As Kiran did not return for long, the friends started searching for him and finally came to the nearby house of Sunil Shetty for help.
Sunil, with his friends Aksha Kumar, Dharmaraj Hegde, and Sujith Shetty started searching. As they suspected Kiran of drowning, diving experts Mayyaddi and Tejas were called for help. Finally, at 8.35 pm Mayyaddi found Kiran’s body in the water.
An unnatural death report has been registered at Ajekar Police Station under Section 174(C) CRPC.
