Mangaluru, Dec 01: Body of two missing fishermen were found on Tuesday.

“Shri Raksha,” a boat owned by Prashanth Chitrapura with 25 fishermen had ventured into the sea on Nov 30 morning.

After completing fishing when the boat was on its way back to Mangaluru fishing port, it was hit by severe waves. The boat drowned about 8 nautical miles away from Mangaluru.

Of the 25 fishermen, 19 were rescued by another fishing boat ‘Chamundi.’
Six fishermen- Preetam, Chintan, Panduranga Suvarna, Jiavulla, Ansar and Hasainar went missing.

The Coastal Security Police along with Coast Guard started a search operation along with the local fishermen and divers.

On Dec 1 around 12.30 pm, the body of Panduranga Suvarna and Preetam was found in the sea. Search is on for the other missing fishermen.
