Modi govt selling public institutions to MNCs: Adv Shivakumar S M
Belthangady, Nov 27, 2020: Trade Union leaders and activists have strongly opposed privatization in various sectors initiated by the Narendra Modi government.
“In the last six years since Modi led government has come to power, public institutions like airlines, railway, insurance, and port are being sold to Multi-National Companies (MNCs). They are sold like tea,” senior advocate and CPIM leader Shivakumar S M said.
He was speaking at the protest organized by the CITU Belthangady Taluk Committee in front of Mini Vidhana Soudha. The protest is in support of the all India protest by JCTU.
“In the name of lockdown, people of the country were kept in dark and public institutions were sold. Also, anti farmers, anti-labor and anti-Dalit laws were brought into force in the name of ordinances. This is against the constitution. The entire country has raised its voice against this on the Constitution day,” he said.
He alleged that “Ache Din” is only for Adanis and Ambanis.
CITU taluk secretary Vasanth Nada blamed the Modi government for turning pro-farmer laws into pro-MNC laws.
“The government is working as an agent of MNCs,” he alleged.
CITU vice president Shekhar L, leaders Sukanya H, Nilesh H Perinje, Kusuma Machar, Malini Kaikamba, Sudha K Rao, Dalita Sangharsha Samithi (Ambedkar Vaada) convener Nagaraj S were present.
