Two-wheeler rider killed in accident
Mangaluru, Nov 23: A bike rider died in an accident between the bike and a car on Sunday night.
Police said that a bike rider, one Yathiraj of Balthila village, Bantwal was hit by an Omni coming from Kalladka. The accident took place near Kudrebettu Bolpodi of Bantwal Taluk on Sunday at 10.45 pm.
Yathiraj was severely injured and rushed to hospital in Mangaluru where he was declared dead.
Omni driver Yogish was also injured in the accident and is under treatment at a hospital. The two vehicles, an electric pole was damaged in the incident.
A case under IPC Section 279 (Rash driving), 337(A) (Causing hurt), and 427 (Mischief causing damage) is registered at Bantwal Traffic police station.
