Bajpe police foil cattle theft bid
Mangaluru, Nov 12: Bajpe police foiled a cattle theft bid and arrested a person at Addur check-post around Wednesday midnight. They have also seized weapons and chilli powder that the accused wanted to use to threaten if anybody tried to prevent the crime.
The incident took place at 11 pm on Nov 11 when police officils were conducting regular checking at the check-post.
A red color car came from Kaikamba to Addur. Seeing the police officials at the checkpost, the driver stopped the car and tried to take a sudden turn. The police immediately jumped into action and stopped the car.
While four in the car identified as Mustafa, Siyab, Arafaz, and Junaid escaped from the spot. The police arrested Tanvir (23). He revealed that he and his team had planned to rob cattle from the sheds or those grazing on the road.
They also had chilli power and weapons in the car to threaten if anybody tried to stop them.
The police have seized the car, a long knife, a foldable knife, chilli powder packet, and also nylon ropes.
