Mithun Rai’s ‘Road Challenge,’ to BJP leaders
Mangaluru, Nov 04: The hashtag campaign #Roadchallenge is trending on social media after District Youth Congress leader Mithun Rai took it up on Facebook and Twitter.
Rai challenged the BJP leaders attending the State Executive Committee meeting at Mangaluru on Thursday to travel on road and ‘experience,’ the condition of the ‘Golden Road.’
Rai’s challenge has received good support on social media. While many have forwarded the same challenge on WhatsApp and Facebook, some have changed it a bit.
NH 75 via Shiradi Ghat is the lifeline connecting Mangaluru to the state capital. Though the Ghat section has been concretized, the road before and after that is a nightmare for the people. The condition of the road is horrible. There have been many jokes on the condition of this road on social media.
Now with the BJP’s state executive committee being held at Mangaluru on Thursday, the public and Congress leaders have started a campaign of a sort.
Mithun Rai took to Facebook and Twitter on Wednesday to pose the ‘Road Challenge,’ to the BJP leaders.
Senior BJP leaders Nalin Kumar Kateel, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Pralhad Joshi, C T Ravi, and R Ashoka will attend the meeting.
“Requesting Chief Minister of Karnataka #BSYediyurappa and State Executive committee members of the #BJP, who are traveling to Dakshina Kannada district to attend the #StateExecutiveMeeting, to travel on the National Highway #ಚಿನ್ನದRoad via Sakleshpur on Shiradi Ghat, make videos & share it on Social Media and participate in the trending hashtag in Mangaluru #RoadChallenge🏆,” – Mithun Rai challenged.
Though it was trending among the Congress circles, there were many associated with BJP who too agreed that the condition of the road was bad and the leaders need to take it seriously.
