No ‘Shesha Vastra,’ distribution at Kateel this Navarathri

Mangaluru, Oct 17: Taking precautionary measures to prevent spread of COVID-19, Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple administration has decided to make some changes in its Navarathri programme.

The ‘Shesha Vastra,’ of Goddess Durgaparameshwari is distributed every year on Lalitha Panchami (the fifth day of Navarathri). Thousands of devotees gather on the occasion.

This year Lalitha Panchami is on October 21. But this year in the backdrop of COVID-19, the temple has decided to cancel the event.

Meanwhile due to the special Alankara to Sri Durgaparameshwari there will not be darshan between 3 pm and 5 pm .

As government suggests children not to venture out, the Aksharabhyasa Seva too has been cancelled this year, according to the temple statement.
