Five arrested in Sampath Kumar murder case
Mangaluru, Oct 11: Police officials arrested five persons in connection to Sampath Kumar murder case.
On October 8 around 6.45 am, Sampath had got into his car and was about to leave when the assailants came in a car and hacked him to death.
A case was registered based on which team led by Sullia Police Inspector started the investigation.
The team on Sunday arrested five people. Of these four are from Kallagundi and the fifth from Jalsur. Their names have not been revealed as the identity parade is pending.
The accused were arrested at Munglipade on October 11. They were trying to escape in a car taking Subrahmanya- Bisle Ghat road. The car used for the crime has also been seized. The accused had allegedly used one gun, one sickle, and one knife for the crime.
Sampath is accused in BJP leader Balachandra Kalagi murder case. The police investigation has revealed that the murder of Sampath was an act of revenge.
The operation was conducted by the team lead by Sullia CPI Naveenchandra Jogi, PSI Harish along with the DCIB team
