VHP seeks special team to curb cattle mafia
Mangaluru, Oct 06: Vishwa Hindu Parishad has demanded the police department to set up a special task force to curb the Cattle Mafia in the district.
Addressing reporters, VHP Vibhag Karyadarshi Sharan Pumpwell expressed his concern over the increase in the number of cattle theft and illegal cattle transport in the region.
“Illegal cattle transport and cattle theft continue uncontrolled in the district. In the past one month several cases related to illegal cattle transport and theft have been filed in various police stations in the district. Posh cars like Innova, Scorpio, and Maruthi Swift are used for transporting these cattle,” he said.
He defined it as a massive Cattle Mafia.
“Unless the key people are nabbed police will not be able to stop it. A special Taskforce has to be formed to drag the people behind this and put an end to cattle trafficking and theft,” he said.
Beef mixed with Mutton:
“We have received information that beef is mixed with Mutton in some shops. It has been brought to the notice of the Health Officials of Mangaluru City Corporation. Officials should probe and the trade license of such traders should be canceled,” he demanded.
The leaders warned that if the officials failed to take necessary steps to stop cattle transport and theft, Bajrangdal will be forced to come to the streets.
